Middle School's 'Day of Giving' Supports Red Cross Measles Initiative

"One dollar can save a dying child suffering from measles in Africa." This thought alone amazed many youngsters at Robert Frost Middle School.

Each year, the Rockville school hosts an annual fundraiser to help area non-profit organizations with various initiatives. For the last three years, the students have chosen the American Red Cross of the National Capital Area as one recipient to receive funds for its Measles Initiative and dubbed November 22 "The Day of Giving."

The students participated a poster contest during the event which was guided by high school volunteers and Red Cross staff. There was a first, second and third prize that motivated the kids to raise more funds for the initiative. This was an educational event for kids as well as for parents who attended.

Special thanks to the students, parents and staff at Robert Frost Middle School. You've proven you CAN make a difference!
