College Park, MD - On Monday, July 28, American Red Cross of the National Capital Area Chapter staff and volunteers joined various public safety and transportation officials in providing a Capital Wireless Information Ned (CapWIN) briefing and demonstration for Congressman Steny Hoyer (D-Md) at the University of Maryland. The event presented examples of CapWIN's current operating progress, its benefits and accomplishments, and future plans with program growth to enhance information-sharing in real-time when managing planned events or unforseen crisis occurring within the region.
