Early morning Saturday, June 20th, Linda Mathes, CEO of the American Red Cross of the National Capital Area, visited St. Paul Baptist Church's youth volunteers and presented certificates to them. They were recognized for their participation in community projects where they collected and distributed food to those in need. One mother and grandmother were also recognized for their continued support of the youth and their community projects. Thanks to those who help our community. |

The American Red Cross in the National Capital Region worked to assist in two large-scale disasters which began June 22, 2009. Alexandria, Arlington, Loudoun and the National Capital Area chapters partnered together and shared resources to assist 200 senior citizens displaced by a transformer, gas fire, and a deadly Metro crash affecting hundreds.
