The Nurse Assistant Training Program offers comprehensive academic and hands-on clinical training to prepare you for employment in the health care field. Your instructors are Registered Nurses committed to excellence. They provide both classroom and clinical experience based on established principles of care: safety, dignity, independence, communication, infection   control and privacy.

The 120 hour VA State approved Nurse Assistant Training Program includes the development of communication skills, safety measures including infection control and injury prevention, personal care skills, meeting the needs of individuals in an atmosphere fostering their independence, indentifying and protecting the rights of others and life skills such as: conflict resolution, time management, teamwork, and effective job search.

The classroom is conveniently located on two bus lines at the intersection of King and Washington Streets in historic Alexandria, VA and is located on the 3rd and 4th floors. The ability to climb stairs is essential.

Upon graduation, you will be issued a Red Cross certificate of completion and your individual record of major skills mastered and be eligible to take the examination for certification as an CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant).
